Began the coaching career at the age of 20, when Eduard Raud invited Komogortsev to be his assistant at PSK Sakhalin.
Joined the Lokomotiv Kuban Academy at the invitation of Roman Semerninov, with whom he won several medals at the Russian Junior Championships.
In 2021, after being invited to Kupol-Rodniki, Artyom Mikhaylovich became the youngest head coach in the history of the Superliga.
Komogortsev’s next club in his coaching career was Zenit-M, with whom he won bronze and, a year later, gold medals in the VTB United Youth League.
In the summer of 2024, he joined the coaching staff of the Lokomotiv Kuban main team.
