For the Loko newcomer, the game in Samara (96:69) was the first against his previous club. Aleksandr used his 15 minutes on the court very effectively: he scored 11 points, made 2 rebounds, 2 steals, as well as 1 assist and 1 block.
- How did it make you feel stepping onto the court of the Samara Sports Palace in the uniform of your new team?
- I tried to throw emotions away and do my job that is playing basketball. But I was incredibly pleased with how warmly the Samara fans greeted me. I wish these people the opportunity to keep watching basketball.
- Have you told your new coaches and teammates about how Samara is playing?
- No. Honestly, I didn't even think of revealing some tactical secrets. Loko definitely should have won without my advice.
- What did it take Lokomotiv so long to pick up the proper pace?
- I don't want to look for alibi, but let's connect this with the difficult road from St. Petersburg. It took us 20 minutes of game time today to come to our senses, wake up, catch our breath, so that already in the 3rd quarter we showed the basketball that everyone expects from us.
- What was the key factor in winning?
- I think it was aggressive defense. We only allowed them to score 7 points in the 3rd quarter: we defended well, ran away, scored easy balls. I would say that was the moment when we decided the outcome of the game.
- Do you already think of the next game, against CSKA at Sunday?
- First of all, we need to recover after the game. Tomorrow we will fly to Moscow and then we will begin to thoroughly prepare for CSKA.
