The Loko guard answered journalists’ questions after the victory over CSKA (106:104).
- What can you say about the game?
- It is always good to win, especially against such an opponent on their arena. I am very glad that we won. For sure, we would prefer not to waste such a lot of nerves – both ours and of our fans. But such games temper you. This experience will be very useful to us, because there will be a lot of such games in the play-offs – with high intensity, where you will need to maintain maximum concentration from the first minute to the last. Today we managed to do this, and therefore we won.
- What did the rush at the final seconds look like from the court?
- I have been playing for our main team for the fifth season, so I've witnessed a lot of tense games – even with the same CSKA. So I was not afraid to take responsibility. Patrick Miller had already left with too many fouls, so I played the point guard. I stood on the line, took the ball, ordered a combination and began to wait for our player to open up for my pass. Then Nikita Kurbanov stepped over the line, and in the last two minutes of the game that is what you immediately receive a technical foul for. The referees whistled the violation, passions started to boil. We all – I mean Loko players – tried not to react, not to get involved. Then, however, Antonius Cleveland missed both free throws – probably to tickle our nerves a bit. But finally, everything ended well for us.
