Interview

Andrey Martyuk: “I was sure that we would win even without me”

The Loko center had a tremendous game against CSKA (106:104): 27 points, 10 rebounds, 3 scored three-pointers. Unfortunately, Martyuk finished the game early – after he twisted his leg while landing after a successful block.
The main question that interests everyone is: how do you feel?
I feel great. My body is fine, except for my ankle. In the locker room I watched the moment of my fall – it looked, of course, unpleasant. But I hope it's nothing serious. Upon returning to Krasnodar, I'll go for an examination, and then we'll see. I feel like I'll be back in action in a week or two.
Were you worried about the outcome of the game when you couldn’t continue playing?
Of course, I was very upset that I couldn't help the team any further because of the fall, but I was sure that we would win even without me. You know, when I sat down on the bench – everything was calm inside me. I had no doubts about our victory.
You had an incredible game today. How so?
My teammates trusted me from the start and I took advantage of every opportunity they gave me. I think that fueled the team for the entire game.
