Due to the upcoming All-Star Weekend, the VTB United League has decided to announce the Team of the Week earlier than usual.
Isiah Whaley made it into the Top 5 for the second time in a row. On February 12, Lokomotiv Kuban defeated PARMA (91:82), and Whaley scored 22 points (his personal best in the league so far), made 9 rebounds and 4 blocks, which also resulted to 27-point efficiency.
The VTB United League also selected Dušan Beslać (Avtodor), Alexey Shved (Zenit), Andrey Zubkov (MBA-MAI) and Yeuheni Beliankou (Uralmash) in the team of the week. It is with Uralmash that we will play our next game in the championship – on March 1, since the United League is taking a break due to the All-Star Game and the window for national team games.
By the way, let us remind you that four Loko representatives will take part in the All-Star Game: Patrick Miller will play for the Guests team, Kirill Yelatontsev and Alexander Gudumak will play for the Hosts team, and Andrey Vladimirovich Vedishchev will coach this team. The game will start at 5:05 PM on February 16, and the live broadcast will be held on the league’s website.
