The Russian men's national team is holding a training camp in Novogorsk from February 17 to 25. Initially, two Loko players were called in, but Kirill Temirov was sent to Krasnodar in agreement with the national team's medical staff. But Danil Sheyanov stayed – and we asked him how he is doing.
- Danil, describe your first impressions upon arriving at the national team.
- The most positive. I am very glad that I got into the national team. I will justify the trust!
- What is the daily routine in Novogorsk?
- It's like a classic training camp: breakfast, training, lunch, afternoon nap, second training, dinner. In our free time, everyone does what they want: scrolls the phone, watches TV, has conversations.
- How different are Zoran Lukić’s training sessions from those at Loko?
- In terms of physical activity, training at Lokomotiv Kuban is probably more difficult. In the national team, training goes like this: first we go through tactical moments – very thoughtfully and slowly; then we practice game interactions. Zoran Lukić places a lot of emphasis on details and individual subtleties.
- What advice did Zoran give you personally?
- During training, he, of course, pays attention to me, but I have not yet had the opportunity to talk to him separately. Of course, I want this to happen – it is interesting to acknowledge how he sees my ability to play basketball.
- Do you think this training camp will help you in Loko?
- Absolutely! The experience of training in the national team helps to feel a certain confidence in your strengths, your actions. I have no doubt that this training camp will greatly help me in the games for the club in the most important, final part of the season.
