The newcomer to Lokomotiv Kuban PBC held his first training session at our Youth Training Center, after which he gave an interview to the club’s press service.
- What do coaches say about when you will join the team?
- Right now they have me doing some stuff with the strength coach and the player development coach on the court. But I'm ready whenever they need me to be.
- Are you acquainted with some of the Loko players?
- Yes, I know Taj [Tahjere McCall] a little bit. Also, I've known Patrick Miller for a long time. It's been fun to watch him grow as a player, as a person. He’s had an unbelievable pro career. To start where he started from and to where he's at. It's very inspiring.
- Do you know somebody from other teams in our league?
- Yeah, Alex Poythress, he's a Tennessee guy. I know him. Probably know a few guys more. I've been playing for a long time, so I'm sure I know a lot of other guys.
- What do you know about the VTB United league?
- I know a little bit. I followed throughout the years. Never got a chance to play out here. But I understand it's a very competitive league. Very tough. And, I'm looking forward for the challenge.
- You have won the title in Puerto Rico recently. Please tell us about that.
- I've been there for a month with the team, and I got really close with the guys. Me and the owner are very close friends. I played with the point guard on the team who was MVP. So, it was great. I enjoyed Puerto Rico a lot.
- Have you already got some impressions of Krasnodar?
- I’ve seen a little bit of the city just from driving. I haven't seen much outside of that, but everybody that I've met is very nice.
- As a man who has played in the NBA, what are your impressions of our facility?
- This facility is amazing. Everything you need is right here. I understand right there. Everything is new. Only, like, about three years old. So if you're a young player, man, you can’t ask for a better opportunity to come here and get better every day. They live here too. So it's easy. You can eat your meals here. You can train in the weight room. You can work on the court, all in one place. It's amazing.
