Interview

Dmitry Uzinsky: “It was a bad day for us, but we need to stay together”

The captain of Lokomotiv Kuban analyzed the results of the defeat to Uralmash (66:75) in the second quarterfinal game.
What is the main reason of this loss?
We didn't start as aggressively as we should, especially in front of our fans. It's unacceptable to play like that. We need to make the right conclusions and be fully prepared to win both matches in Yekaterinburg.
What changed in Uralmash comparing to the game #1?
It is us that is the problem. Just like in the game #1, they were aggressive. But this time we didn't defend as we should have. We missed a lot of open shots. That made us nervous and a lot of mistakes started to happen. Also, we didn't share the ball on offense: only 13 assists is very little. We need to work on many components. I think we'll analyze everything and we'll succeed.
Did you say something to the team as a captain?
I said it was a bad day for us, but we need to stay together. Keep supporting each other, and then next time everything will work out. We need to play the basketball we showed two days ago and many times before that. When we play as a team, it's hard to stop us.
