Welcome, Anton Nikolayevich!

In the upcoming season, the main team of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC will be headed by the best coach of the Superliga-2024/25 – Anton Nikolayevich Yudin.

Yudin was a notable player: as a shooting guard, he was the 3-time champion of Russia with CSKA and took part in the 2001 Eurobasket, where the Russian national team finished 5th. He ended his career as a player in St. Petersburg Spartak in 2011 and soon began working as an assistant coach in the same club.

In 2014, he joined the CSKA coaching staff, with which he became a 2-time Euroleague champion and a 6-time VTB United League champion.

In 2023, he took charge of Zenit-2 and made it to the semi-finals of the Superliga – for the first time for this club. He spent the previous season as a head coach of CSKA-2, which he led to silver in the Superliga, and was also recognized as the best coach of the tournament.

Andrey Vedishchev, the president of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC

I am grateful to everyone who supported me during the period when I led the club as the head coach. Despite the responsibility that lies on me as the president, I considered it necessary to see from the inside how the main team lives and prepares for games, what spirit and character the players have. I am glad that I went through this path, I do not regret my decision for a second. My main task always remained the same – to find a coach who can install character and a champion spirit in the team. And now, with great hope, I hand over this post to an ambitious Russian specialist Anton Yudin. I have known Anton for many years – we often crossed paths as players, including playing together in the national teams. Today he is a serious and purposeful specialist who knows how to be tough, but fair. I am sure that he is ready – both psychologically and in terms of experience – for his debut as head coach of a VTB United League team. We have a common understanding and maximum ambitions. His experience in preparing young players for a professional level will certainly be useful to our team. And we will continue our strategy – to develop talented Russian basketball players. I wish Anton Nikolayevich good luck! We will help in every way possible!
