Anton Yudin: “A win is a win”

The head coach of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC answered questions from journalists after the victory over Samara (101:84).
What can you say about the result?
For sure, you always want more, you always want to perform better, but it doesn't always happen. We knew Samara had a problems with their roster and that they hadn't won yet, but they play good basketball almost every game. A lots of stupid mistakes did not let us keep Samara's offense at a lower level. But our plan was to split the playing time as evenly as possible, giving those who hadn't played in a while a chance to play, like Vsevolod Ishchenko. However, congratulations to the team on the victory. A win is a win.
How was Ishchenko this evening?
You know that Seva was out at the very first preseason practice. So, we barely worked with him—only 4 days before Samara. He's definitely talented, as well as there are many areas where he can and must improve. But I think he played well enough for his first game.
Can we say that the team has a good chemistry already?
Of those players who have been working with us since the start of preseason, I think we can say they understand our requirements and play together well. But a team is a complex organism, and every new player brings some changes. It takes time for the team and the player to get used to each other. Unfortunately, we still don't have a full roster; we're waiting for Jeremiah Martin and Kirill Yelatontsev to return. So, we have some good chemistry, but also we have a lot to improve.
Have you heard the stands today?
Of course. I'm glad there were over 4,300 spectators. As I said before the game, if so many people show up when the team from last place comes to play with us, it means the people come first and foremost to support the home team. So I want to show a big gratitude to everyone who was in the stands today.
