Anton Kvitkovskikh: “I try to focus on helping the team, I don’t care how much I score”

The Lokomotiv Kuban forward received Melbet's Player of the Month award before the 89:80 win over Zenit, and he performed at a high level again today: 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
How would you comment on the result?
A very important victory, first and foremost, mentally. We needed it after the losses to CSKA and Mega. Thanks to the fans, it was awesome and loud at the arena today. We really had no right to lose, especially to a team with so many players and coaches who were at Loko before.
What happened to your face? Why do you wear a band-aid?
It was Yema [Vladislav Yemchenko, Zenit guard] who scratched me! In the 1st quarter, he saw me going for a foul, started gesturing for an intentional foul, and then he hit me in the face with his nails. Now, I'm calm already, but at the moment, I was really angry. If you will interview Yema, please ask him to say hello to his manicurist in St. Petersburg.
You're having the best season of your career so far. Why do you think that happens?
I feel the coaching staff's trust; they help me and explain a lot of nuances. The coach tells me not to be afraid of mistakes; he says mistakes are part of the process. I try to focus on helping the team, and who scores how many points is secondary; it's not important to me. Sometimes my teammates create chances for me, sometimes I help them with screens and rebounds. We try to play as a team.
