Patrick Miller: “Our fans are our advantage”

The Lokomotiv Kuban captain had another MVP-level performance against Zenit (89:80) – 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and a grandmaster-level efficiency rating of 30.
What helped Loko win?
We came out playing hard from the start. We needed this win, and it transformed into how hard we started. Our aggressiveness helped us to withstand the opponent’s run and not to let them back in the game.
Loko was good today as a team, do you agree?
Unfortunately, this season is like a rollercoaster for us right now. You know, we’re always a team, internally we are always together. We don’t always show this on the court but I’m glad today we’ve shown what team we can be. And now we gonna maintain some consistency. Every game can be different, and we gonna be focused on what team we can be even when new guys come and Jeremiah [Matin] is back.
A lot of Zenit guys were your teammates last season. How was it playing against them?
I think it was an extra motivation. I was also playing against my old coach too, so it just made the game more fun and I think it just gave me, and I guess us, an urgency to make a statement. We wanted to win.
What about the crowd today?
I said a lot how much we needed our crowd. It helps us a lot, they’re the best fans in the league. We wanted to do good for us and also to them. Every game we play at home we try especially hard. Our fans are our advantage.
