Vsevolod Ishchenko: “Once you’ve picked up the ball, you have to prove your worth”

The Lokomotiv Kuban guard answered journalists’ questions after the game against Zenit (69:98), in which he became the top-scoring player on our team (13 points).
What do you think is the reason of such a result?
It's hard to tell, I don't know why we start like this every time. For some reason, we only wake up in the second half.
You're only 20 years old, but you're not afraid to go toe-to-toe with experienced players like Noah Vonleh and Luka Šamanić. How do you manage to do that?
What's the point of playing basketball if you're afraid of your opponent? Age and status—those things only exist off the court, but once you've stepped out and picked up the ball, you have to prove your worth. The thing is, that doesn't always work out...
Will a 3-game losing streak put any pressure on you or do you recover quickly from such things?
We'll improve our attitude and try to get off to a good start in the next game in Nizhny Novgorod. Three losses in a row isn't quite what we were hoping for in this stretch.
