Mike Moore: “We have to focus on the defensive side”

The Lokomotiv Kuban forward assessed the team's recent games and shared his expectations for the upcoming game against CSKA on December 25 which will be the part of the intraseason Winline Basket Cup.
What is your opinion about the league now, when you’ve played several games here?
Obviously it's a very competitive league. I think we have to be prepared every game to face the opponents best. Right now it's a difficult moment for us. We're trying to find the chemistry on the court, the physicality, everything we need to play at a high level up to our potential.
In the previous game, both teams scored more than 100 points. When was your last time when both teams scored so much?
Probably last season when I was in Belgium. It was a pretty high-paced league, high-scoring league. They emphasised offence. But our issue isn't going to be an offence. We have to focus on the defensive side of the ball and try to increase our physicality and try to get more stops.
How important was it to win at Nizhny Novgorod?
Of course, after dropping three games in a row, you want to get a win by any means necessary. So we wanted to come out and make sure we came back home off of the road trip with a win. Try to use that as momentum going into the game on Thursday.
It will be some different tournament, in-season cup. What do you expect of this tournament?
Honestly, I haven't heard much about the tournament. It's my first time playing in it. It looks like it's being promoted very well through social media. So I'm excited.
How much different will the next game against CSKA be from the previous one?
Obviously we hope to learn from some of the things we did last game and make some adjustments and come ready to play and get a win in front of our home crowd.
Do you want to say a couple of words to our fans?
I'm looking forward to your support Thursday and for the rest of the season. Hopefully we can get a win and give you something to cheer for.
