Ivan Samoylenko: “For me, the most important game is against every next opponent”

The Lokomotiv Kuban guard reviewed the team's preparations for Sunday's game against Zenit.
How important is the confrontation with Zenit to you?
I have no special story with Zenit personally. No matter what, the most important game for me is against every next opponent, no matter where they are in the table. You have to think about one game at a time and try to win the one that's coming up, that's what I think.
Do you feel like your role in the team has changed with the new coach?
Not really. The emphasis in my game is still on defense.
And what has changed in the team’s play?
We're practicing a lot and intensively now, trying to run more, get open quickly, and move the ball fast. We try to do everything faster and be more aggressive in defense. In that regard, our game has probably changed.
Loko fans constantly send you words of support on social media. Do you know that?
Aye! I'm really pleased to see comments like these and get support from our fans. I'm very grateful and try to give my best in every game and every practice. I'll keep working to be worthy of this support.
