Anton Kvitkovskikh: “Small details made all the difference”

The Lokomotiv Kuban forward commented on the results of the Winline Basket Cup game against PARMA (92:93).
What worked today and what didn’t?
We started off pretty strong, both offensively and defensively. But PARMA responded well, not giving in to our tough, aggressive play. They also ran very well, moved the ball, and shot at a high percentage. When we relaxed a bit, our mistakes let them catch their rhythm. Small details made all the difference; they gradually levelled the score, and in the end, I think, luck was on their side. There were a lot of mistakes from our side, we'll work on this, and try to learn from this game.
You were one of those guarding the PARMA's main "big guy", Terrell Carter. How did that feel?
He's a good player, gifted not only physically but also technically, moves well under the basket, and finds his position. We tried to find a specific defense against him. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, 'cause he still scored his points. So we need to find other ways, a more cunning approach, perhaps, against such big players. We're working on it, drawing conclusions, learning lessons, and I think we're getting better with every game.
Were the stands sound today?
For sure! A huge shout-out to the fans. Even on a weekday evening, when there's traffic and everyone's busy, people come and support us, and it's incredibly valuable. Thank you so much. We truly hear you and appreciate you. Unfortunately, we weren't able to give you a win today, but we'll try our best.
