Tomislav Tomović: “Once we finally picked up the pace, Samara couldn’t handle us”

The head coach of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC commented on the victory over Samara (96:79).
What was happening with the team in the first half?
One of the reasons we didn't start the game the way we wanted was a wrong approach. We talked a lot about that, but still we wasn't concentrated enough. Another reason is that we've been training at a higher intensity all the previous days. That cost us some freshness today, but we have three away game, during which training possibilities will be limited. So we tried to get in as much training as possible while we could.
What helped change the way the game went?
In the big break, I demanded more aggression, focus, and speed from the team. The opponent tried to slow us down with zone defense, but once we finally picked up the pace, they couldn't handle us.
Ivan Samoylenko left the court limping. How is he?
Against PARMA, he twisted his knee a bit. Looks like he worsened this injury today. More information will be after the medical examination. I hope it's nothing serious with him. Vanya is an important player for us; we need for our upcoming away games.
