This is Lokomotiv Kuban’s 15th season in the VTB United League, and on Sunday we’ll play our 500th game in the tournament. Of the previous 499, we’ve won 319, scoring 41,610 points and allowing 38,620. 112 of those games occurred in the playoffs (55 wins, 57 losses). There were 20 overtimes in 17 games (3 with 2 overtimes), resulting in five wins. Therefore, Lokomotiv Kuban’s net playing time to date stands at 20,060 minutes.
Over the years, we’ve faced 31 teams from 11 different countries in the League.
150 players have played at least one game for Lokomotiv, 34 of whom are alumni of the club, and 84 are foreign players representing 22 countries. The United States had the largest representation (51 players), followed by Lithuania (4), and Slovenia (3). Macedonia, Poland, Australia, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, and Belarus each had 2 players on our roster. Mali, Spain, Georgia, Montenegro, Liberia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Ukraine, France, Italy, Cyprus, Senegal, and Canada had 1 player each.
Vladislav Yemchenko (217) played the most games for Lokomotiv in the VTB United League, followed by Andrei Martyuk (210), Anton Kvitkovskikh (171), Dmitry Uzinsky (160), and Andrei Zubkov (151). Among foreign players, Jaylen Barford leads in this category (123), Patrick Miller has 98 games played so far in the league, Derrick Brown and Mantas Kalnietis are tied for third (86 each), followed by Richard Hendricks (81) and Ryan Broekhoff (76).
Zakhar Vedishchev has played for Lokomotiv in the VTB United League in 7 different seasons, Andrei Zubkov in 6, and Maxim Kolyushkin, Grigory Shukhovtsov, Mantas Kalnietis, Alexander Shcherbenev, Kirill Yelatontsev, Andrei Martyuk, and Vladislav Yemchenko in 5.
Errick McCollum set the league scoring record for Lokomotiv on October 2, 2021, scoring 38 points against Tsmoki-Minsk.
Alan Williams set a club record for rebounds (17) on October 18, 2020, against Nizhny Novgorod.
A week later, on October 25, 2020, Mantas Kalnietis recorded 17 assists in an away game against Zielona Gora, also setting a club record.
Vince Hunter, with 7 steals against Uralmash on January 29, 2026, matched Jaylen Barford‘s record in a game against Samara on October 8, 2022.
Lokomotiv players have recorded 6 blocks in a VTB United League game 5 times: 3 times in the 2014/15 season (Anthony Randolph achieved this feat on December 20 against the Bisons and on January 25 against Avtodor, and Richard Hendrix on March 29 against Zenit) and 2 more times in the 2020/21 season (Reggie Lynch made it both times – on December 13 against Zenit and on January 9 against Astana).
Our opponent in the 500th game is UNICS, which is having a very strong season. They have suffered only 3 league losses and 1 in the intra-season cup. The Kazan team will have the largest representation at the upcoming VTB United League All-Star Game on February 15: Alexey Shved, Dmitry Kulagin, Marcus Bingham and Jalen Reynolds will play, Velimir Perasović will coach, and Ty Brewer will participate in the slam dunk contest.
