It was Mega who proved the biggest sensation of the opening rounds of the WBC: they started with a victory over CSKA in Moscow (81:72), and then defeated Lokomotiv 103:100 in overtime. That evening, with the score of 101:100, Kassius Robertson scored a potential game-winner, but after a long video review, the referees concluded that the 24-second possession had expired split second earlier and disallowed the basket.
Since then, Loko has lost twice more, losing even a theoretical chance of reaching the WBC Final Four. For Mega, everything will be decided on March 31st, in Perm. If they beat us on February 11th, they’ll have to defeat PARMA by any score to reach the semifinals. If we win on Wednesday, Mega will have to beat Perm by more than “+16”.
Our opponent is a very unpredictable team, as is additionally evidenced by their February games. On February 1st, in an ABA game, Mega defeated Crvena Zvezda 107:102, having come back from “–10” in the 4th quarter. A week later, in the final game of the first group round, our opponent lost at home to Spartak Office Shoes from Subotica (89:94). Now, in the second round, they will play in a weaker group – the one from which only two of the 10 teams advance to the ABA playoffs.
Mega’s current roster clearly features a core of 6players who average 25+ minutes per game. Point guard Savo Drezgić is the leading scorer in Winline Basket Cup matches, averaging 16.5 points. He takes the most 3-pointers on the team (6.5 per game), making 2.3 (34.5% accuracy). He is also the most fouled (6 times), leads the team in assists (5.3), and has sound numbers in rebounds (4.5) and steals (1.3). Drezgić made all the decisive shots at the end of the first-round game against Loko, finishing with 29 points. On February 8th, he scored 31 points against Spartak Office Shoes.
In WBC games, small forward Asim Đulović averages 16 points, 7.3 rebounds (the most on Mega), 2 assists, and 1.3 steals. In the November game against Lokomotiv, he recorded a double-double (23+15). It’s worth noting that our Anton Kvitkovskikh also notched a similar statistical achievement that night, compiling 17+11, while Patrick Miller was one rebound short (30+9).
Center Luigi Suigo is one of those players they call a “unicorn”: the 7’3″ Italian, who only turned 19 at the end of January, is a serious threat from 3-point range – in intraseason cup games, he’s shot an incredible 53.8% from afar, with 3.3 attempts per game! He’s averaging 14.3 points, 5.5 rebounds (3.3 of which are offensive), 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks in our tournament – and he’s not even the leader in the Mega in this regard.
Mega’s leader in blocks in the WBC is team captain, power forward Bogoljub Marković (2.0). His other stats are also impressive: 13 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 steals. In a recent game against Crvena Zvezda, Marković delivered a brilliant performance: 29 points, 10 assists, and 6 assists for a total efficiency rating of 41.
Since our game in Belgrade, Mega has added a newcomer, American point guard Kyrell Luc. The Longwood College graduate began the 2025/26 season with another Serbian team, Sloga from Kraljevo. He played for Mega twice in the Winline Basket Cup, averaging 9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals (team-leading), and 0.5 blocks.
Another player we’ve included in our opponent’s “core six” is shooting guard Urban Kroflić. Playing nearly half an hour per game (29:40) in WBC games, he’s averaging 7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1 steal, and 0.3 blocks.
The game starts at 8:00 PM, and Basket Hall will be open to fans starting at 6:30 PM. Come early – together with the Winline Basket Cup organizers, we’ve prepared an exciting and unique entertainment program for you.
Go, Loko!
