We spoke with the Lokomotiv Kuban forward before the game against Avtodor, the first professional club in Anton's career.
- Do you feel something special when playing against Avtodor?
- Well, not anymore. The first year or two, when I just moved from there to Lokomotiv, it was something special. But now it's just regular games, because the roster Avtodor has totally changed, the coaching staff has changed. Of the guys I played with, Vitalijus Pranauskis remains, plus some people from the medical staff.
- In your opinion, has Avtodor's game changed much since the new coach started working?
- Usually, when a new coach comes aboard, the game changes, too. But considering they are now led by the former assistant coach, I think they've kept the same setup, formations, and everything else. It's difficult to make big changes during the season. But, the guys probably have more freedom now, and it's noticeable. Especially considering that one of their key players, Alen Hadzibegovic, has joined us. So those who stayed have to take on more responsibility.
- Avtodor ended a long losing streak in their previous game, beating Samara in overtime. Will this help them against Loko?
- Huh, I don't think so. Cause we're not just going out there to have fun, we're fighting, we're solving our problems. It'll be a serious, good, interesting game, fast-paced, and physical. I wouldn't say it'll be easy for either team.
- What will be the key factor to win?
- Concentration, desire, hustle. And, of course, we need to stick to the game plan the coaching staff will provide us.
- Wanna say something to Loko fans?
- I invite everyone to all our upcoming home games – there aren't many left, and the playoffs are coming soon. We're very pleased that you support us not only at home but also on the road. We truly feel and appreciate it, and thank you all so much. We're always happy to play to your pleasure. See you on Sunday!
