Kirill Yelatontsev joined the Lokomotiv Kuban Academy in 2016.
With Lokomotiv-2, he won the silver (2020/21) and gold (2022/23) medals of the VTB United Youth League. He was named the VTB United Youth League regular season MVP in the 2020/21 season and the Final Four MVP in the 2022/23 season.
In February 2024, he was called up to the Russian national team for the first time.
In the summer of 2024, the player extended his contract with Loko under the 3+2 scheme.
On February 16, 2025, he participated in his first VTB United League All-Star Game, being selected by the sports journalists voting.
In 2025, Yelatontsev was awarded the VTB United League Best Young Player Award for the 2nd time in a row.
