The player joined Lokomotiv Kuban in 2020.
In September 2023, at the first ever VTB United Youth League Supercup, Ishchenko was named the tournament MVP.
In the 2023/24 VTB United Youth League, he was selected to the 1st Teams for the regular season and the Final Four.
He has been playing for Lokomotiv’s main team since September 2024.
The player made his debut for the Russian national team in the summer of 2025.
In 2026, was selected to the All-Star Game by a fan vote. He scored 10 points, made 2 rebounds and 3 assists there.
Ishchenko received the VTB United League’s Best Young Player award for the 2025/26 regular season.
On June 26 2026, he was selected in the NBA draft as the 56th pick by the Chicago Bulls and immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
