Alejandro García Toledo has been the head of the physical training staff at Lokomotiv Kuban since August 2018. Prior to this, he held similar positions at BC Khimki, the youth academy of Estudiantes, and the Women’s Euroleague clubs Perfúmerias Avenida and Ros Casares, among others.
He played basketball in his youth, but quickly realized he could achieve much greater success as a coach.
He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid with a degree in sports science, after which he earned master’s degrees from the Spanish Olympic Committee (specializing in athletic performance improvement) and the European University of Real Madrid (specializing in nutrition and training for professional athletes), where he earned the doctoral degree on “The Development of Gifted Athletes” in 2019.
He regularly speaks at events organized by the Euroleague Fitness Coaches Association (ESCCA) and the Spanish Basketball Fitness Coaches Association (ASEPREB).
During the offseason, Garcia usually organizes a youth training camp in Spain and trains professional players individually.
