Loko downs Enisey on the road

Lokomotiv Kuban hammered Enisey Krasnoyarsk on the road within the regular championship of the VTB United League – 75:49. The top scorer of Loko was Frank Elegar with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal. Mardy Collins, Dmitry Khvostov, and Brian Qvale added 8 points each.


In the first quarter, Enisey hard resisted due to Hilliard who got 8 of 18 team points. Loko well distributed its offensive potential among the players. 7 of them scored in the period.

The first quarter left a hope for a neck-to-neck game (18:22) but the second one broke any hopes for that. Loko won the period with the 10-3 score and set a new record of the season in allowed shots per quarter. The best defense of the championship raved and stormed!

In the third quarter, the hosts barely overcame 10 points in the score, while Loko extended its advantage to 26 points. In the fourth period, Krasnoyarsk came back to -20 and had chances to avoid devastation. The guests played wide rotation and involved all listed players in the game. The advantage grew to 30 points. In the end, Enisey tied the score (17:17) and returned to -26. 75:49 – the best allowed shots stats in the season for Loko.

It is the 25th win in a row for Lokomotiv Kuban in the season in all tournaments. In the VTB United League, Krasnodar still takes the first place in the standings with 12 wins in 13 games.

- Congrats to my team. We knew that it’s hard to play in Krasnoyarsk but we scouted the opponent very well, its offense. And we showed very good defense. I can even say our defense was perfect today. It was the main reason for our win.
