Darius Thompson (193 cm, 89 kg) was born on May 4, 1995 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
During his student years Darius played for the universities of Tennessee, Virginia and Western Kentucky.
Thompson’s first professional club in 2018/19 was Leiden in the Netherlands Championship. Darius became the MVP of the championship, as well as the best scorer in the championship and the FIBA Europe Cup.
In the summer of 2019 he moved to Italy, where he spent two seasons at Brindisi, he also played in the FIBA Champions League.
In the 2020/21 season Darius entered the second symbolic five of the Champions League season, playing 12 matches with an average of 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Note that the American guard has scored 40.7% of three-point shots.
In the Italian championship last season he played 31 matches, scoring 12.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Brindisi took second place in the regular season and in the semifinal series lost to the well-known for the Loko fans Virtus Bologna. At the end of the season Thompson entered the first symbolic five of the championship.
