Andrey Martyuk is the best athlete of Kuban-2022!

At the match "Lokomotiv-Kuban" - "Minsk", a solemn celebration of the winner of the annual prize "Athlete of Kuban 2022" was held.

The best athlete of the Krasnodar Territory 2022 during the online voting on the portal “Kuban спорт.RU ” the fans chose the basketball player of Lokomotiv-Kuban, the strongest young player of the VTB United League in the 2021/22 season, Andrey Martyuk.

The very nomination in the company of such successful athletes has already been honorable, and the victory is just fantastic! Becoming a laureate is not only a memorable award. This is recognition not only of my personal merits, but of the merits of the whole club, recognition of the popularity of our team and sport. I know that I was supported by fans of our game from many regions of the country, from all over Russia. Loko fans and fans of other clubs rallied, supporting the basketball representative. The traditional award of the award and its symbol — the “Champion’s Shield” — were presented to the winner at the Loko home match by Andrey Vedishchev, President of the Lokomotiv-Kuban PBK, and Maxim Osadnik, Chairman of the KKRO of the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia.

Congratulations to the pupil of our club Andrey Martyuk on winning the honorary title "The best athlete of the Krasnodar Territory in 2022"! A lot of fans voted for the Loko forward. Andrey's award is, of course, the result of his great work, but not only. The award is organized by the Krasnodar Regional Regional branch of the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia (KKRO FSZHR) with the support of the RNKB Bank. Since 2011, the top ten athletes representing the Krasnodar Territory are first determined by sports journalists, and then the only winner is chosen by fans.

In the final, the confrontation between basketball player Andrei Martyuk and wrestler Alexander Golovin ended in favor of the forward of Lokomotiv-Kuban, who scored 52.2% of the votes. It should be noted that in total over 37,485 votes of respondents were given for all the nominees. This is a record for the entire time of the award. The winner scored 11,274 votes in three stages.

Andrey Martyuk became the first basketball player who managed to win the main sports award of the Krasnodar Territory “Athlete of Kuban”.
