DeVon Akun-Purcell has become a Loko player!

The forward with citizenship of the USA and Trinidad and Tobago (29 years old, 198 cm) signed a contract with PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban.

The player began his career in 2012 at the University of Oklahoma, and continued in 2014 at the University of Illinois, where he was recognized as the best rookie of the season. He was the leader of his university’s team in points scored (14.1).

In 2016, he signed his first professional contract. Already in his first year playing for the Bakken Bears, he led the team to the championship in the Danish national championship and was recognized as the MVP of the season and the finals. Akun-Purcell also helped his team win the national championship in the second year of his performance, and for the first time in the history of the Bakken Bears club, they reached the semi-finals of the FIBA Cup.

In the summer of 2018, Akun-Purcell joined the Denver Nuggets in the NBA summer camp, his averages were 12.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists. As a result, he signed a contract with a club from the state of Colorado. The cooperation lasted until December, after which the player moved to Europe.

The defender’s track record includes performances in the championships of Israel, France and Turkey. Akun-Purcell’s last club was Galatasaray, with whom he played 22 matches in the Turkish championship. Spending an average of 27 minutes on the floor, he scored 15.2 points, made 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists. In the Champions League with the Turkish club, he played 12 matches (30.0 minutes, 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game).
