The Star Weekend began at Saturday, with the VTB United League’ Friends game. Famous NBA players Andrei Kirilenko and Timofey Mozgov, heads of the League and the RFB, general managers and presidents of clubs were among its participants. Lokomotiv-Kuban was represented by the club’s president Andrey Vedishchev and sports director Viktor Meleshenko.
Vedishchev, the MVP of last year’s edition, was one of the most productive (17 points and 6 assists) players of Saturday’s game, and his team eventually won. But it was Timofey Mozgov (24 points) who became the MVP this time.
Thus, the title stays in Krasnodar krai. Mozgov began his path to big-time basketball in the village of Afipsky in our region.
