The Slovenian basketball team, led by Loko head coach Aleksander Sekulić, succeeded to win two games at the start of the European Basketball Championship-2025 qualifying round.
Both games took place in Slovenia. In the first match, on February 22, the hosts defeated Ukraine (87:73), and on February 25, Israel was beaten (88:79).
Thanks to this result, Slovenia tops qualifying group A. The next games in this tournament will take place on November 22 and 25, both against Portugal. The two best teams from each group will be qualified for EuroBasket.
Also, from July 2 to 7, the team led by Sekulić will qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris. This tournament will take place in Piraeus, Greece. Only one team from these six will succeed: Slovenia, New Zealand, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Dominican Republic.
