Alba vs. Lokomotiv Kuban. EuroCup. Preview

Lokomotiv Kuban has arrived in Berlin to play a EuroCup game against Alba on December 5th. Krasnodar beat the rival in the first game at home. And that was the only defeat of Alba in the group. If Berlin wins, it will improve its position in Group C. The game takes place at 10:00 p.m. Moscow time.

The Take

There is an important game in Germany when ALBA Berlin (5-1) hosts already-qualified Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar (6-0) in Group C. A win would put the hosts in the Top 16, but Loko will want to remain strong and claim first place in the group at the first given chance.

Lokomotiv has won the three previous games between these sides, including a victory in Round 2, 75-59, thanks to 20 points by Chris Babb to hand ALBA its only loss so far this season.

Spencer Butterfield is the main man for ALBA (14.0 ppg.) followed by Peyton Siva (13.4 ppg., 6.4 apg.) and Luke Sikma (12.3 ppg., 7.5 rpg.).

For Loko, Joe Ragland leads the way (16.5 ppg., 4.8 apg.) together with Trevor Lacey (11.6 ppg.) and Babb (11.0 ppg.).

The hosts will have a hard time playing against the third-best defense in the championship (71.5 ppg.), but they have the tools to do it with better percentages from the field and the fourth-best mark in assists (19.5) against the second weakest one (13.0).

The fact that it plays at home and that a Top 16 ticket is waiting at the end will surely give ALBA a huge motivation boost, but the guests are on a roll this season and will want to keep their perfect record.
