Interview

Anton Kvitkovskikh: “We are starting serious work, there are big goals ahead”

The Loko forward described his first impressions from the first days of training camp.
Do you notice any changes in your teammates after the vacation?
They look younger [laughs]! But in general, each of us had a personal training plan, and everyone looks like they followed it strictly – the guys arrived fit and full of energy.
How did you spend your summer?
Pretty excellent! I had time to relax, visit my parents, and, of course, work. I wanted to be ready to work hard at the start of the training camp.
What were your first thoughts when you knew who the new head coach is?
It was very unexpected! But Andrey Vladimirovich is a man of great basketball experience, he is always with the team, and he definitely has an understanding of the game. So, I think it will be interesting and useful – both for the young guys and for those who are more experienced.
If it’s not a secret, what did the head coach say when everyone gathered in a circle before the start of the first training session?
About how he sees the game and the team. He told us what new rules we will have in the training process, wished everyone good luck and to avoid injuries – we are starting serious work, there are big goals ahead.
What goals?
To win – there is no other goal for us.
