With expanded rosters
After the victory over Merkezefendi, Loko players got a day off, but then they started training twice a day (except for the day before the game, when it was one again).
According to the agreement between the opponents, 14 players can be included in the roster today instead of the usual 12. So there is a high chance that today we will see many of those who were out of the game on August 30 on the court.
Uralmash will probably also test many of the reserves. They have one more good reason for this: they played their first match at the Gloria Cup yesterday – and beat Türk Telecom with a score of 76:72 (the Turks, by the way, we will play against the day after tomorrow).
Andrey Vedishchev: "We know what to work on"
– We know Uralmash well, – says the head coach of Loko. – They kept the core of the team from last season and added experienced guys: Vyacheslav Zaitsev came from UNICS, Jeremiah Martin and Euheni Beliankou from Yenisei. A very decent lineup.
But we will primarily focus on our actions and continue to practice our team interactions. With each next match, there fewer opportunities to experiment. So, now it is important for us to give playing time to all the guys who are working at the training camp. There is still a lot of work to do, and we clearly see what needs to be improved.
What did Uralmash show in their yesterday's game
The 4-point lead over Türk Telekom does not reflect the balance of power of sides. Rostislau Vergun’s team steadily increased their advantage – in the 3rd quarter it was almost always double-digit – and only at the very end did they relax a little.
Uralmash played with five Americans for most of the game: a quartet of those who have been with the club since last season (Octavius Ellis, Tyrell Nelson, Javonte Douglas, Stanley Whittaker) plus Jeremiah Martin, who recently joined them. The legionnaires played isolations and basic attacking combinations very well. Ellis ended up scoring 19+6, Nelson – 17+9, Douglas – 16+13.
