In the game against Samara (76:64), the Lokomotiv Kuban forward scored 13 points, made 8 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, 2 steals – and for the first time in many years met an old friend.
- What helped you turn the tide of the match?
- I think Samara is a very underrated team. At the start of the game, they showed us with what intensity we need to play if we want to reach our at the end of the season. Our coach told us about that many times, and finally we managed to concentrate. As soon as we began to match this level of aggression and play with the right intensity, things changed in our favour.
- Is it true that you've played against your friend today?
- Yes. Brendan Adams was one of my best friends in college. Today was the first time I met him since then. It was fun playing against Brendan. I'm glad he's doing well in Samara.
- For a bigman, you're a very good three-point shooter. Where did you learn to do that?
- In college. At first, I was mostly used in the post, but then I decided to become a more versatile player and started practicing my long shot. I wanted to have no weaknesses, so that the opponent would not know exactly what to expect from me. Someone who is a threat both in the paint and on the perimeter is always more valuable.
