The Loko guard gave an interview to the club’s press service before of Sunday’s game against UNICS.
- How does the club's record 7-game winning streak affect your game?
- I don't feel any pressure and I hope the team doesn't either. After all, we're doing what we love, so we should go out on the court and enjoy the game at Sunday. And, of course, we want to extend our winning streak as much as possible.
- Please rate UNICS.
- UNICS is a great opponent. From season to season, games with them are hard-fought and exciting. You can't relax against them for a second even if you lead by 15 points: they will immediately get back into the game.
- Is this a rivalry between you and them?
- Yes. It was UNICS who threw us out of the finals last season, and did not let us win gold a year before. Off the court, we can be friends, but on the court, we are first and foremost rivals. Sometimes the level of contact goes beyond the limits, and yes, we often had scuffles with UNICS, but that is their style of play. We need to impose ours, be ready for their runs and deliver our own.
- What is needed to be done to win?
- We need to stay focused for all 40 minutes, no matter how the game starts. As practice shows, UNICS always begins very aggressively - both in attack and defense. We must be ready for this, and not relax even if we will lead. Until the final whistle, we need to stay calm, follow the idea of the coaching staff, be a team and support each other. Everything is in our hands, that's how we will succeed!
