- To be honest, I don't have a clue on the reasons of such a weak start. I do not want to make excuses, but maybe, the difficult road made itself felt. We needed to overcome ourselves, to fight physical fatigue. I am glad that in the end we managed to do it.
- What helped you do this?
- Aggressive defense – a lot depends on it. We started playing as a team and moving the ball better. At first, we couldn't hit 3-pointers or mid-range shots, so we tried to find opportunities to score from under the hoop.
- Was it hard to repeat the VTB United League season record for steals in one game (6)?
- Astana plays with a shortened roster, so some players are playing out of position. Our coach's instructions were to put pressure on their point guards and be more aggressive in defense. I just tried to do it and I think it worked.
- Now you are flying to Krasnoyarsk. What do you expect from the game with Yenisei?
- It will be important to play as a team and act defensively against Yenisei. Our players are quite big,so it should be hard for our opponents to attack our hoop. But we got to get together and play at our best to make our advantage valid.
