Interview

Antonius Cleveland: “In the 4th quarter, we finally found a good lineup”

The Loko guard scored 18 points in the game against Yenisei (73:70), with 11 of them in the final quarter.
Why was the game so hard for Loko?
I think the long journey and the time zone change took their toll. We looked a bit sluggish at first, while our opponents played with a lot of energy. For the whole game, we were looking for a lineup that could make a breakthrough and give us an advantage. In the end, we succeeded – at the start of the 4th quarter, we were able to run by something like 10 points. This gave us control of the game in the final minutes. We did a good job and deserved this win.
Did the fact that you beat Yenisei +23 at the start of the championship gave them extra motivation?
When you beat a team hard, the next time they play against you with much more effort. I expected a tough game, but I didn't think the score would be so close for the entire 40 minutes. Yenisei plays well at home, every year they beat the league leaders in their arena, so today we needed maximum concentration.
The next game is on Sunday. What do you expect of Avtodor?
I really want to win! We need to be focused and protect our home arena so that we can go into a break in a good mood and get back to work with renewed energy.
