The American forward for Lokomotiv Kuban scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in the winning game against MBA-MAI (84:65).
- What can you say about the result?
- In the last few games we had trouble playing consistently well for the full 40 minutes. Today we started well and created a good advantage. Even though the opponent got closer at some moment, we let them score only 23 points in the second half – that was the turning point.
- How well do you feel in mostly defensive game?
- I think athleticism is one of my greatest strengths. Along with my speed and size, it allows me to defend well against players of almost all positions. We have a lot of great defensive players on our team. Next to them it is easier to make steals and prevent the opponent from making good shots. I think as a team we are making good progress in defense.
- You scored a very spectacular dunk in the first minutes of today's game. Do you score with such vigorous on purpose?
- I do. Good dunks always give energy to the team. In the next episode Anton [Kvitkovskikh] scored a great dunk too. That really energized us for the rest of the game.
- Also. you scored 10 free throws out of 10 attempts. What helps you be so calm at that moments?
- This is basics, one of the main training exercises. They are called "free throws" because this is the only opportunity in the game to score without any resistance. This is what I focus on.
- Did you miss playing in front of the home crowd and, especially, your family?
- Yo see, as a player, you have good moments, and you have bad moments. It’s much easier to stay positive when you play in front of the people who support you no matter what. So, of course, I missed that. And I’m very happy that today we were able to thank our fans with a win.
