Karvel Anderson: “When you give an opponent confidence, it’s hard to stop it”

The Loko guard spoke of his feelings on the game with PARMA, in which he scored 16 points, but his team have lost, 77:82.
What can you say about this game?
Obviously, it's a tough loss for us. Losing to one team three times in a row is embarrassing, no matter which level the team is. We have a problem we need to fix.
At one moment Loko was ahead by 10 points. What happened next?
It’s a good question. They started to get aggressive, we made a couple of bad decisions in defense, let them score some easy baskets, then a couple of difficult baskets. It gave them confidence and momentum. When you give an opponent confidence like that, it’s hard to stop it.
Do you believe in magic? Sometimes it looked like someone put a spell on the opponents basket – even very good throws did not come in there.
No. I believe in God, so I don’t believe in magic. I just think, you know... If you don’t respect the basketball game in the right way, then sometimes things don’t go your way. It’s about practice, habits, doing the right things every single day, not only trying to be good during the game. Basketball is a “make-or-miss” game. For example, CSKA. We could not make a single basket against them for a long time. But we did other things that allowed us win that game – we played hard on defense, we played together as a team, we fought for our partners. Today there was the same situation – we didn’t make these baskets, but we also didn’t do small things to win this game, as we did against CSKA.
