Welcome, Tahjere!

Lokomotiv Kuban PBC and Tahjere McCall have signed a contract until the end of the 2024/25 season.

McCall (193 cm, 88 kg) was born on August 17, 1994 in Philadelphia, USA. Usually plays as a shooting guard.

His first college was Niagara, but after two years he transferred to the University of Tennessee, where he was recognized as the best defensive player for two years in a row (2016 and 2017) and was included in the first team of the Ohio Valley Conference of the NCAA Championship (in 2017, Antonius Cleveland was included in the first team along with him).

After graduating, Tahjere played for several G-League clubs, and in the 2020/21 season he won this championship as part of the Lakeland Magic, also being included in the Top Defensive 5. The player has 1 NBA game under his belt – as part of the Brooklyn Nets against the Washington Wizards on February 27, 2019 (116:125), where he scored 4 points, made 1 rebound and showed the best plus-minus in his team (+15) in 8 minutes.

Since 2021, McCall has played for the French Orleans and Fos-Provence, the Israeli Hapoel Holon, and the Australian Cairns Taipans, where he played alongside Patrick Miller. Tahjere moves to Lokomotiv Kuban from the Chinese Guangzhou Loong Lions.

We were looking for a replacement for BJ Johnson, who was out for the rest of the season. McCall is a team player who knows how to defend and pass the ball. More importantly, he is a real competitor – he has the desire to win every game and every episode. It was also good for us that McCall is well acquainted with some of our players. I am very happy with this signing, I hope that Tahjere will help Lokomotiv achieve our maximum goals.
