Lokomotiv Kuban vs. Limoges CSP. EuroCup. Preview

In Round 6 of EuroCup, Lokomotiv Kuban welcomes Limoges CSP in Krasnodar on November 15th. At the moment, Loko has five wins in five games and the leadership in Group C. The French got only two wins. So they have to defeat our team in Krasnodar to maintain chances for Top-16.

The Take

Undefeated Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar (5-0) welcomes Limoges CSP (2-3) for a Group C duel. For the home team, a victory is worth a Top 16 spot. When these two sides met in Round 1, Loko took the road win, 61-63, thanks to Joe Ragland’s 19 points.

In fact, Ragland has been the solid leader for Loko through five rounds (18.6 ppg. and 5.2 apg.), helped by backcourt mate Chris Babb (14.7 ppg.) and Trevor Lacey (11.5 ppg.).

For Limoges, Axel Bouteille is the main pillar (14.2 ppg.), followed by Mam Jaiteh (12.6 ppg. and 6.8 rpg.) and Kenny Hayes (12.0 ppg.). Loko features the third best defense in the league (74.8 ppg.) and is also fifth best under the glass (35.2 rpg.).

The hosts also outpace Limoges in assists and steals, and overall have better shooting percentages except from the free-throw line. Limoges is struggling this season to find a rhythm that lets it sit on the winning path, and this long trip to Krasnodar probably doesn’t arrive at the ideal moment. T

The regular season starts its second leg and, while it still retains many options to make the Top 16, Limoges would need positive results fast to secure its position.
