Lokomotiv Kuban beats PARMA in preseason game

On September 26th, brand new Loko defeated PARMA at home 82:67.

The game against PARMA looked like a serious game in the mid of the season from the very beginning. Larson successfully attempted a few three-pointers in a row. Loko needed almost the whole quarter to get into the game. Kulagin and Whitehead added colours to Lokomotiv’s offence (12 points by them). Krasnodar cut the gap between the teams to 3 points – 16:19. But the real show started when Moustapha Fall appeared on the court. He got 2 points with buzzer in his first offence. Then, he posterized Kelly…

Fall needed 5 minutes 55 seconds to make fans cheering him standup while he was going to the bench. Loko started to catch up the rival. Ponitka got 6 points in the period, Fall and Johnson – 4 points each. Lokomotiv took the lead but PARMA returned its 6-point advantage by the end of the first half.

However, in the mid of the third quarter, the gap between the teams grew to 10 points – in favor of Loko. McLean got 8 points in the first half of the period, Wright shot end-one, Ponitka was furious. 25:13 was a result of the third quarter. Since that moment, the leader hadn’t been changing in the game.

In the final quarter, Ponitka made alley oops assisted by Kulagin. Johnson shot all balls getting into the paint. As a result, the captain got 18 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, Ponitka – 13 points, McLean – 12. Loko ended the preseason with a win in front of its fans.
