The Lokomotiv Kuban guard played strongly against Zenit (81:72), scoring 24 points, giving 6 assists and making 3 steals.
- What can you say about the result?
- A great team win. We played like a team for the entire 40 minutes. We were able to stick to our game until the very end. I'm glad we won because we're battling Zenit for the third seed in the playoffs and we want to overtake them.
- What was the key factor today?
- Our defense was the key today. We were especially good in the 4th quarter, holding an opponent with such an offensive range to just 12 points.
- Was there some special plan for the 4th quarter?
- No, the plan was the same as for the first three quarters. We just realized it was time to take control of the game, played a little more focused, and... Well, you saw it.
- The referees allowed hard contact today. Were you okay with that?
- Yeah. The playoffs are coming soon, and it will be even tougher. We need to get used to this level of contact now and learn to take control.
- Do you like such an intensity?
- I do. The arena was full, everyone was giving it their all—that's where your team's worth is tested. Games like these are good for the league, and for us, as we gain experience. And especially for those of our fans who watched from afar. I hope we gave them a reason to be proud of Lokomotiv.
- There were some Loko fans at the Zenit arena today. Did you hear them?
- For sure! There were several moments when our fans outshouted the locals. I'm glad we were able to thank them with a win. We were all united today.
