The head coach of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC commented on the victory over Pari NN (112:72).
- What made this victory so convincing?
- Approach. I always demand the right attitude from my team, first and foremost. We had a really bad second half against CSKA this week, and I'm glad to see the team's reaction. We put enough pressure on the opposing guards, which allowed us to make a lot of steals and score easy points. Now we need to maintain this level of concentration for the playoffs. Of course, we still have room for improvement, for example, in our reading of certain offensive situations and communication. But today we showed that we have a base on which to build further progress.
- What can you say about today's Pavel Ryabkov play?
- He didn't take part in our recent practices because he was busy with youth team games. But even when you don't know the team's plays very well, you can still be effective, which he showed today. He still has a lot to work on, getting used to the pace and toughness of adult basketball, but Pasha used his chance well today: he worked hard on defense and grabbed rebounds. Young players don't often get the chance to influence the game in offense, but they always have opportunities on defense–providing energy and hustle. That's how I think young players should earn their minutes.
- Your family arrived to Krasnodar. Does seeing then at the stands give you some extra motivation?
- It's always nice when someone really close to you is cheering you on in the stands. Of course, it helps and motivates. I'm happy they're here. I hope they enjoyed the game.
