Tomislav Tomović: “I’m proud of the guys that kept believing in victory”

The head coach of Lokomotiv Kuban PBC commented on the victory over BETCITY PARMA (87:82) in the third game of the quarterfinals.
At your opinion, what happened today?
At some point in the 1st quarter, we lost our heads under the pressure and stopped playing what we wanted. Our opponent's offensive rebounds became a big problem: they grabbed 13 in the first half, which really influenced our play, we could not attack the way we used to. But we were able to recharge, and I'm proud of the guys. We kept believing in victory, stayed together as a team, and allowed the opponent to grab only 3 offensive rebounds in the 2nd half. I'm glad that ultimately, this led us to victory in the game and the entire series. This isn't the first time our character has helped us achieve the result in the playoffs. This should become our hallmark.
The next opponent is CSKA. What do you expect from the semifinal series?
This is the reigning champion, the regular season winner, a team that has been playing with mostly the same roster for a long time. But I'm sure we'll have time to recover and prepare properly for the semifinal series. Tactics will undoubtedly be important, but in my opinion, the most important thing will be determination. When the game might not go well, but we need to stay together as a team, like we did today, and give our maximum.
Do you want to say something to Loko fans?
It's great that we see them not only at home games but also at away ones. An exciting semifinal is coming up, and let's stand together to get a result that will make us all happy. Come support us–it really helps.
