Mike Moore: “We need to keep fighting, no matter what”

With 18 points, the Lokomotiv Kuban forward set a personal scoring record in the VTB United League in the 4th game of the semi-final against CSKA (75:85, series score 1-3).
Loko started off very well. What happened then?
Such pace is hard to maintain for the full 40 minutes. We wanted to start strong and be as aggressive as possible from the very beginning. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sustain that intensity. Now we need to watch the video, and prepare for the next game. We need to win in Moscow.
There were so many open three-pointers that Loko missed at the end of the game...
It's part of the game. Coaches tell us to shoot without hesitation in situations like this. That's the only way to gain confidence in your shot—if you find the right rhythm. And then it'll be easy.
Once in the history of the VTB United League, there where a team that led 3-1 in a best-of-7 series but ultimately lost. That was against CSKA in the 2021/22 season finale. Can Lokomotiv replicate Zenit's performance, winning the current series?
Of course. It's up to us whether we believe in ourselves or not. We need to keep fighting, no matter what the previous result was. Series are won game by game. Now we need to think about how to win on Saturday.
How does it feel when your backs are against the wall?
There's no panic. We will fight. No one on the team doubts we'll succeed. We'll correct our mistakes and continue to believe in each other.
