Lokomotiv Kuban tried to lead the game from the start but didn’t manage to hold it for long. Cory Higgins got 3/3 field goals in 3.5 minutes and got replaced by Nando De Colo. Him and Sergio Rodriguez had a few easy shots that led to a 14 point margin at the end of the first quarter with 18:32 on the scoreboard.
Second quarter shortened the margin with some help from Trevor Lacey (6 points) and JaJuan Johnson and Vitaly Fridzon who scored 4 points each. The period was won 21:18 but the 2 digit gap was still on the board.
After the half time triples from Wright and Fridzon made it seem like the comeback was close. The arena was buzzing witnessing a 48:52 score in the third quarter. But by the end of it De Colo scored 30 points and an 11 point margin got the champions a big lead once again.
Dmitry Kulagin tried to heat up the game with 9 points in the last 5 minutes but it was not enough. The game ended 76:93 with CSKA winning the match.
18 points from Kulagin made him the top scorer in Loko adding 4 assists and 3 rebound. Johnson got the same 18 points with 6 rebounds. Fridzon scored 12 points and McLean and Wright finished with 9 points each.
