Loko beats PARMA and gets to Final Four of the Russian Cup

In the second quarterfinals of the Russian Cup, Lokomotiv Kuban defeated PARMA Perm – 84:69 and qualified to the Final Four.

Ivan Nelyubov won tip-off and immediately assisted Dmitry Kulagin who shot dunk. PARMA responded with Dybovskii’s three. Ivan Nelyubov added two free throws and Loko took the lead. Zhmako shot two threes in a row – 5:9. Sasa Obradovic had to take a timeout. PARMA continued successfully attempting from downtown – 6/7 3P and 18 points. Loko had its own distant shooter – Dima Khvostov who got 13 points (2/2 2P and 3/3 3P). The score after the first quarter was 27:21. 

The teams didn’t show good results in the first two minutes of the second period – 2:1. PARMA shot one free throw and Loko’s Khvostov scored two. Perm failed to play effectively in the paint and returned to downtown shooting. As for Loko, Dima Kulagin showed his best in the end of the quarter. Loko’s advantage grew to 11 points (39:28) and ahead of the second half our team maintained the double-digit advantage – 41:31. 

The third quarter was the hottest in the game. Loko won it 28:22. Ivan Nelyubov got 8 points, Evgeny Baburin – 6, Kulagin scored 5. Lokomotiv’s got a 16-point lead in the game and a 21-point lead in the series. 

PARMA started the fourth period with a 7-point scoring run. However, Dima Khvostov managed to score three and Perm failed to overcome a double-digit gap. Lokomotiv Kuban pleased fans with another beautiful win – 84:69.
