Johnny O’Bryant is the latest Loko signing

Ex-Maccabi forward pens a one-year deal with Lokomotiv Kuban.

Johhny O’Bryant (206 cm, 117 kg) started with a spark in college. Three years in Luisiana State University made him the 14th player in the club’s history to reach 1000 points and 700 assists.

In the season 2014/15 O’Bryant debuted in the NBA and played for Bucks, Nuggets and Hornets in the next 5 years. In 2017/18 season he had 36 appearances on the court for Hornets having 10.5 minutes, 4.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in average.

Last summer Johhny moved to Europe and signed up with Maccabi where he played 30 games in Euroleague with 28 of them in starting five. The 26 year old averaged 23.4 minutes, 10.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists during his spell in Israel.

Luca Banchi, head coach of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban

We signed a player who showed great performances in Euroleague. He is very talented and we are glad that he chose Loko as the next step in his career. We are talking about a player who play both backcourt and frontcourt with great efficiency. He is still hungry for wins and I’m sure he will push our team to the best level possible. I believe he’ll make a great contribution to our team.

Ginas Rutkauskas, vice president of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban

Johhny O'Bryant is a young and promising player with an experience in Europe. He had offers from the NBA but chose Loko in the end. We are very happy to have Johnny in our team for the next season.
