Sekulic’s team defeated Hungary

The Slovenian national team, led by the head coach of the Krasnodar "Loko" Alexander Sekulic, won the second match at the Eurobasket. This time - Hungary, 103:88.

Group B

Hungary – Slovenia -88:103

Hungary: Pearl (18).

Slovenia: Doncic (20 +7 rebounds +7 assists), Prepelic (14), Muric (11), Blazic (11), Dimech (11), Chancar (11), Z. Dragic (9), Nikolic (6), G. Dragic (5), Rupnik (3), Toby (2).

Considering that the opponent was initially considered an outsider of the group (in the first match, the Hungarians lost to Bosnia and Herzegovina 85:95), the Slovenian coach tried to evenly distribute playing time between all team members.

Nevertheless, the Slovenes immediately began to dominate the floor. Already by the 6th minute they were leading with a score of 18:2, and the greatest advantage during the game was 30 points at all.

The best indicators of the match are expected from Luka Doncic. In 19 minutes spent on the court, the Dallas Mavericks star point guard scored 20 points, while making 7 rebounds and 7 assists. It is with Doncic that perhaps the most memorable episode of the match is connected. Having selected the ball at the corner of the court, he began to move towards someone else’s ring, mockingly threw the ball between the legs of the opponent and from the three-point arc gave a chic hinged pass, which ended with an alley-oop of Vlatko Chanchar.

After two wins at the start of the tournament, Slovenia, together with Germany, tops the Group B table – each team has 4 points on account. Already today, Sekulic’s wards will face the third match in the group – against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The game starts at 18:45.

The position of the teams:

Germany – 4 (2), Slovenia – 4 (2), Bosnia and Herzegovina – 3 (2), France – 3 (2), Lithuania – 2 (2), Hungary – 2 (2).
