VTB United League summed up the results of the voting of experts and fans for the lineups for the All-Star Match. This year’s event will be held in a new format: the Old School and New School teams will meet – players who will already be 30 years old at the time of the match, against the “youth”.
The expanded New School team was named by the fans, after which the experts selected 10 basketball players from the resulting list. From Lokomotiv-Kuban, one player got into this top ten – Jaylen Barford.
Since Loko is the youngest VTB United League team, only one player from our squad fits the age limit of the Old School team – Ivan Paunich. But, unfortunately, he was eliminated at the expert voting stage.
Here ‘s what the lineups look like at the moment:
New School: Jaylen Barford (Lokomotiv-Kuban), Sergey Karasev (Zenit), Justin Roberson (PARMA-PARIS), Daniil Kasatkin, Andrey Lopatin (both MBA), Nenad Dimitrievich, Daryl Macon (both UNICS), Samson Ruzhentsev, Anton Astapkovich, Nikola Milutinov (all – CSKA).
Old School: Thomas Ertel (Zenit), Evgeny Baburin (Pari NN), James Ennis (Samara), Evgeny Voronov (MBA), Malik Dime, Ryan Boatwright (both PARMA-PARI), Alexey Shved, Nikita Kurbanov (both CSKA), Andrey Vorontsevich, Jalen Reynolds (both – UNICS).
These compositions are not final. In the coming days, the VTB United League will issue four more personal invitations (wild cards) to players at its discretion – as a result, there will be 12 people in each of the national team.
Recall that the Star Weekend will be held at the Moscow VTB Arena from February 17 to 19. Tickets are already on sale.
